Hello! It’s Alexandra Haddad :) I’m a director, intimacy & fight choreographer, producer/administrator, and most recently, playwright. I love collecting hyphens and affiliations like a crow collects shiny treasures. 🐦⬛✨ So, I am most delighted to share I’m a newly minted member of B&E’s Resident Artists cohort and as such, fulfilling my duties as a member of the Comms team here on Substack, bringing you the Breaking news as it Enters B&E’s feed (see what I did there?).
I go by Alex with friends - so call me Alex.
And allow me to dispel the rumors: I am not playwright Alyssa Haddad-Chin or director-designer Alex Church-Gonzales, though I’m thrilled to be included in that fabulous line-up!

my body is falling apart and i’m not sure what to do anymore by emily/BUBECK
The NYC tour of my body is falling apart and i’m not sure what to do anymore, a performance ritual based on the structure of a Catholic mass, continues its journey after a fabulous opening on Bubeck’s own 30th birthday.
Produced by Breaking & Entering Theatre Collective and Henry Lombino, part coming of age story, part exploration of trauma in our individual and collective bodies, and more than anything an ode to the women who made us; my body is falling apart and i’m not sure what to do anymore uses found poetry and original music in a shared space that feels both familiar and brand new. It begs the question: what would your spiritual practice look like free from the trauma of organized religion? What does healing feel like in your body?
Written and performed by emily/BUBECK (Breaking & Entering Theatre Collective, Trouble With Dead Boyfriends, Staff - New Dramatists) with new music by Xander Browne (The Public, The Flea). Produced by Henry Lombino (Joe’s Pub, The Cell, Pool Plays 3.0, Keen Company) with direction and developmental support from Molly Van Der Molen (The Ground Floor - Berkeley Rep., Shotgun Players)
Seats can be reserved here.
Performances will take place in different venues across New York City. Admission is free, although seating is very limited. RSVP is necessary for entry. A $10 donation per seat is recommended to help cover costs. Contributions can be made to @BETHTRCO on Venmo. Tax deductible donations can be made here

RADIOMAN world premiere by Sarah Groustra
“In a ravaged world where human voices are nearly extinct, two sisters and a wounded stranger cling to survival, memory, and a mysterious radio broadcast that may be the last echo of connection left.”
Directed by Tatianna Baccari, starring Mia Angelique, Sophie Falvey, and Rachel Arianna (plus a slate of incredible voice actors!) AND, of course, written by B&E’s own Sarah Groustra.
Tickets and additional info can be found at radiomanplay.com. Let me know if you’re planning on coming, I’d love to see you there!
Also, if you can’t make it or just really want to get to the full experience, the published script is available for pre-order with 1319 Press.
Resource Corner!
It’s me, Alex, once again. In my work as an arts administrator, I’ve made many resources and systems to help navigate this wild freelance artist world. Here’s one!
I created a document that helps me track all the contacts I’ve made over the years - it’s basically the middle ground between a Rolodex and a spreadsheet, using Notion, a free (!) software similar to Google Drive. I find it super valuable in all kinds of scenarios:
casting a show!
hiring a design team!
updating contacts for a newsletter! … ;)
reaching out to mentors for advice!
tracking contacts based in different places!
To that end: here is a template version of the Notion sheet for you to download and customize. Just copy it and start tracking! Shoutout to Mayah Lourdes Burke, fellow director, for encouraging me to share it! ❤️
If this resource proves valuable to you, please let me know via my email: alex.darcy.haddad@gmail.com. It means the world to me!
The home stretch on B&E’s new home!
Once again, thank you to all who have supported us as we fundraise for a brick & mortar home. This exciting new resource will allow us to supply affordable rehearsal space, house our props and scenic collection and provide a space to gather for our community.
We are currently 75% of the way to our goal!
If you would like to contribute, donations of EVERY size are meaningful and appreciated! Truly, no amount is too small. Venmo us at @bethtrco or donate at this link to make a tax deductible contribution!!
Thanks for reading! All this news is brought to you by Readers Like You.
Sincerely,
Alex Haddad
