B&E's monthly blog
a word from bubeck….
Breaking & Entering Theatre Collective is a community project & indie ensemble dedicated to the collaborative process of developing new work for the stage.
The Rap Sheet is our monthly blog, brought to you by our Communications & Community Committee. Here you’ll hear about what we’re up to, what’s new in the indie theater community & what our resident artists are up to !
Follow along if you’re a theater artist or a theater go-er in the NYC area - don’t miss out on all of our latest opportunities and news!
Hiiii! I’m Karen. I’m a proud Line Up member of Breaking & Entering and I’m part of our Communication and Community Committee.
I’m an actor, writer and director. In my free time I love doing nail art, Peloton workouts and singing karaoke (usually something by Bad Bunny or Lady Gaga). Some of my favorite memories with B&E include our retreats in Beacon, NY and reading a spooky podcast pilot for our Heist at The Museum fundraiser.
Now let’s get to the JUICY stuff!!!!!!
what’s new with B&E…
🎶WOOOAAAH WE’RE HALFWAY THERE🎶
We are ecstatic to share that we’re halfway to our $5,000 fundraising goal! These funds will help our collective move into our very own brick & mortar home so we can supply affordable rehearsal space, house our props and scenic collection and provide a space to gather for our community.
Donations of EVERY size are meaningful and appreciated! Truly, no amount is too small. Venmo us at @bethtrco or donate at this link to make a tax deductible contribution!!
We challenge you to help us by spreading the word of our fundraiser to at least 5 different friends, family members or collaborators before the end of the month.

You are cordially invited to witness her search, and discover what she finds instead.

my body is falling apart and i’m not sure what to do anymore By emily/BUBECK
Touring Brooklyn & Manhattan Spring of 2026
Breaking & Entering Theatre Collective and Henry Lombino are thrilled to announce a NYC tour of my body is falling apart and i’m not sure what to do anymore, a performance ritual based on the structure of a Catholic mass.
Part coming of age story, part exploration of trauma in our individual and collective bodies, and more than anything an ode to the women who made us; my body is falling apart and i’m not sure what to do anymore uses found poetry and original music in a shared space that feels both familiar and brand new. It begs the question: what would your spiritual practice look like free from the trauma of organized religion? What does healing feel like in your body?
Written and performed by emily/BUBECK (Breaking & Entering Theatre Collective, Trouble With Dead Boyfriends, Staff - New Dramatists) with new music by Xander Browne (The Public, The Flea). Produced by Henry Lombino (Joe’s Pub, The Cell, Pool Plays 3.0, Keen Company) with direction and developmental support from Molly Van Der Molen (The Ground Floor - Berkeley Rep., Shotgun Players)
Seats can be reserved here.
Performances will take place in different venues across New York City. Admission is free, although seating is very limited. RSVP is necessary for entry. A $10 donation per seat is recommended to help cover costs. Contributions can be made to @BETHTRCO on Venmo. Tax deductible donations can be made here
Michael Ortiz wants YOU to know your vote MATTERS at SERIALS!

Have you ever sat in a theatre and thought to yourself, I wish I could express how much I loved this show? Have you desperately wanted to voice your opinion and be a part of the new work development process all from the comfort of your seat in the audience? LOOK NO FURTHER THAN SERIALS!
Each weekend of performances, five original, never-before-seen 10 minute works are rehearsed, teched, and fully staged, premiered live in front of our audience. The audience then votes on their favorites, which come back the next week with a brand-new episode, creating long-term overarching storylines and inventive, outside-of-the-box new plays. Former Co-Artistic Director of B&E Michael Ortiz co-produces this night of new works every other month at The Tank. He will be directing a pilot episode this upcoming cycle. Tickets are on sale now for performances on April 2-4th at 9:30pm at The Tank.
